Hello! My name is Rebecca Brandau, and I am the face you will see at Brandau Photography. My husband, Tom, sometimes serves as a second shooter when I need one, but for most photo sessions, you’ll get me! I have had a lifelong love of photography. In high school, I spent many hours in a dark room, learning how to develop black and white film. (Yes, I’m that old!) Today computers have replaced the darkroom and have opened up endless editing possibilities. I love color, which means I tend to produce bright and colorful photos. I also love the simplicity and emotion conveyed in black and white photography.

I am a school psychologist, and I love working with kids. I’m also a mom of two littles, Amelia and Theo. Our family has recently moved back to Iowa from an epic adventure overseas, where we lived in singapore for nearly two years and were able to travel a bit in asia. (You can see my daughter in the photo above trying out scuba for the first time!) we are excited to be back in iowa, with its fresh air, wide-open spaces, and amazing sunsets!
